The inaugural Twizel Arts Festival is a vibrant weekend celebrating creativity in the heart of the Mackenzie.

Across three days 25 - 27 September 2026, Twizel will come alive with workshops, performances, exhibitions, markets and interactive experiences that showcase the incredible talent of community and visiting artists. Whether you're a passionate artist, an enthusiastic beginner, or simply looking for a fantastic weekend out, there's something for everyone.

Festival Highlights include an Art Exhibition, Pottery Workshops with Nikki Wallace-Bell, Landscape Photography Workshop with Jeff Ng, Weaving Workshops with Evita, Craft Market, Self-Guided Street Art Trail, Community Showcase Evening, Lakes Ballet Performance, Highland Dancers, Community Wearable Arts Show, Opening Wine & Cheese Evening, Live music and creative experiences throughout the weekend.

Community Showcase Evening: Saturday night is the festival's feature event. Enjoy an inspiring evening featuring performances from Lakes Ballet, Highland Dancers, and our community Wearable Arts Show, alongside local artwork displayed throughout the venue.
Relax with food vendors and a licensed bar while celebrating the creativity that makes the community unique.

Many festival activities are free to enjoy, including the art exhibition, craft market and self-guided street art trail.
